U7s Shine in Sunny Pwllheli – May 4-7 2012

The under 7s took two teams to Pwllheli this weekend (May 4-7) to take part in the Spring Bank Holiday ESFF tournament.

The games were organised on a round robin basis and included 5 other teams.

Although there are no official league tables for the under 7s, from talking to other coaches, it was clear that the under 7 Phantoms would have finished as runners-up, winning 3 games, (unluckily) drawing 2 and losing one game. A fantastic effort from all of the lads.

Alexander scored 5, Charlie netted 4, Edward also chalked-up 4 and Cai slotted home 2; Samuel and Ben were fantastic at the back and Benjamin equally so in goal.

The Warriors lost narrowly by the odd goal in three of their matches and had very little luck over the two days, hitting the post several times and not getting the run of the ball against the same strong opposition.  They pulled off a much deserved win in their penultimate game and their enthusiasm, attitude, hard work and effort culminated in them winning the Fair Play award at the presentation ceremony.  A magnificient achievement.

James pulled off several fine saves, Rowan and Oscar defended their hearts out, with George, Archie, Seth and Tyler all producing some fantastic football in midfield and attack.

In the goal-scoring stakes Tyler scored 3, Oscar slotted home 2, George also chalked-up 2 and Seth netted 1.

All of the lads were thrilled to receive their trophies from Liverpool and England legend John Barnes.

That put the seal on a fantastic weekend of football and fun in a brilliant setting.

Thanks to the coaches and parents for all your support over the weekend and an especially huge well done to the boys who all played and behaved fantastically!

You were all an absolute credit to Ossett Town Juniors Football Club.
