The Panthers ran riot today against a team, who despite the score, never stopped trying.
From the off the Panthers were on the attack and Reece Cowan made it 1-0 in the first few minutes with a shot that went in off the keeper. A second soon followed from Ryan Allen with a thumping shot from the edge of the penalty area. A substitution saw Callum Burden shoot past the goalkeeper with his first touch to make it 3-0. Both Ben Fishman (with several attempts) and Chris Colley went close before a fine cross from Ben saw Reece slot home to make it 4-0. Scott Rankin was rarely called into action and neither were his defence of Thomas Wright, Josh Wilkinson, Edward Colley and Ryan Allen. William Hall, Jacob Ripley, Bradley Woollin and Sam Cooke all ran hard making some timely tackles and some quality passes. A lob from Callum made the score 5-0 and a third for Reece made the score 6-0 at half time.
With the Panthers going downhill second half it was always going to be one way traffic. The only surprise was that it took nearly ten minutes for the next goal to come a fine run and finish from Callum for his hat-trick. Seb Fealy soon made it eight, who also got the final goal in between two further strikes each from Callum and Reece (both of whom got five goals each) to make the final score 13-0.
Men of the match were William Hall and Thomas Wright both of whom were excellent throughout. A good win against weak opposition, there will be harder tests to come this season.
