Guiseley Yellows 4 v 1 Ossett Town Mavericks

Sunday 3rd march and Mavericks make the long journey to Guisley. Today the are Stephen Hosty ,Hubert Ratkowski, JakeGledhill, Jack Fisher, Jarrod Oakes ,Joe Dunford ,Brandon Thorn, Richard Flood, Owen Denning, Josh Childe and Samuel Bowers.

The game starts and both teams set a high early tempo. Ossett defend well and Stephen is forced into an early save. Jarrod makes a good interception  and clears. Mavericks push forward with Jack who plays a long ball to Owen and a good shot is turned round the post. Brandon gets a head on it but its cleared. Guisley push forward and Jake stops them in their tracks. A quick ball to Rich sees him through and 1 on 1 with the keeper and scores. 1-0 Mavericks. Guisley are quick back at us and soon Jarrod makes an excellent stop and Brandon clears. Joe makes  space and sets up Hubert whose shot is saved. Owen breaks this time and wins a corner. Owen takes and Rich shoots wide. Brandon wins a hard tackle but Guisley trying to step it up a gear. They force a couple of good saves from Stephen but finally get an equaliser. 1-1. Soon after they shoot over, Mavericks regroup and settle. Owen makes a good run down wing but is unable to deliver. Guisley hit our bar and Jarrod makes a good block. Half time blows. 1-1.

Ossett start this half, Jack makes a good run and gets up field. Joe supports and crosses to Rich. Ball runs out. Guisley come back and Stephen saves again, Josh breaks and makes a good run finding Samuel. They work together and get the ball into the area. Guisley clear and attack. Stephen races out to clear. Guisley corner and Brandon heads out but they come back and score 2-1. Rich has a solo run and nearly makes it through getting tackled at last minute. Good pressure from Ossett with rich and owen combining. Guisley break and get round stephen scoring a 3rd. 3-1. Stephen pulls of another save and Guisley hit the post. Mavericks defend well but are unable to stop a 4th goal going in. Josh breaks but is just offside. Mavericks still battling but unfortunatley run out of time. A good game for both sides. Man of the match is Jack Fisher.
