U8’s Ossett Town v Howden Clough

Ben’s match report from 22 September 2013 :
3rd game of the season for Ossett Town B away to Howden Clough and the end result was a whopping 9-0 to Ossett!
I was really pleased Alex made me Captain today.  We had a 1 min silence for Steve Kelly, the Ossett Town Coach and wore black armbands for the match out of respect for him.
We had a great start to the game where I had a few chances to score but unfortunately it didn’t go my way!  10 mins later, Ashton scored his 1st goal for Ossett and this gave us bags of confidence to carry on and win this game.  Alex brought Rocco on a few minutes later and he quickly scored the 2nd goal for Ossett.  I managed to finally get one in the net and we were 3-0 up and I knew then there was nothing stopping us now!  Rocco banged in another one before half time.  All the way through the first half, the team played some lovely football with brilliant defending from Cieran, Finlay and Seb.
Second half – it didn’t take long before I smashed another goal in against the Howden Goalie taking us to 5-0.  We were getting stronger and stronger and then Lauren came along and got our 6th goal.  Lauren was very happy to have got to score which was great, lots of smiles!  Josh and Rocco both added to the score, giving Rocco a hat trick!  We were leading 8-0 near to the final whistle when Cieran came from nowhere and hammered home the 9th goal of the match!
Throughout the match the opposition had some chances to score but some excellent saves from Hayden stopped the ball ending up in our net.  Ethan had a great game and was unlucky not to score in the match.  Next time Ethan!  All the team played well today and there was some great passing amongst all the players.  Well done to everyone – can’t wait for the next match!
