Would you Adam and Eve it!

Right from the Paul Dickov we was ap faw another great cup game. Gorr Blimey, this one was a right cracker, end to end stuff and a right nail-biter till the end.

Norf East Leeds was betta goin forward than they was defendin and because of this it was end to end stuff with loads of chances goin both ways. Norf East was soon 1 nil ap with a right screamer of a shot which hit the top of the net. Why is it we always seem to get one of these in every match? Totally unstoppable.

Bailey Holderness was far too good for the Norf East Leeds defence, too quick, too skilful and too strong. Tyler was also on tap form and got joint “man of the match” with Bailey for his efforts. Tyler slotted a great pass through to Bailey who shot just wide, who shot just wide, who shot just wide, who shot just wide, who shot just wide. Got the message – it is fair to say that if Bailey had a different pair of plates of meat today he would have bagged a right sack full.

Havin said all that Bailey then scored a great gowl when the Norf East Leeds defenda flipped it on and he made no mistake.

Ellis then made it 2 – 1 with a shot on goal afta a short cawna. The keeper thawt the defenda was going to hed it bat he missed it and it went straight inta the net.

Ossett was soon 3-1 ap when Lewis Clark got on the scaw sheet with a strong shot from that strong left foot of his. It was beginnin to look good but just lark last week as soon  as we was looking camfy we let one in. So we went inta arf time just 3-2 ap and still even stevens.

Then wot the lads is always looking forward to – the Chris Capello arf time team talk – ably assisted by the two stooges, Mark and Martin. Not quite Churchillian, but they did listen. “Earn the right to play football” he sed – meaning that we needed more of the determination that Tyler showed in one memorable challenge when he went in for a flying hedda.

From the start of the second arf Ossett was totally in control. The Joes, Senior and Smith, were also on tap form. Senior didn’t put a foot wrang aal game and Smith was showin orf his skills and putting many great passes through for Bailey to shoot wide.

Elliott Hewitt dropped to the ground injured in a challenge and the ball fell to Louis Allison whose powerful shot flew straight into the ref’s boat race. She knew naffink about it and dropped to her knees in a daze. Chris Capello thought she was brown bread and was the first to the scene and offered the kiss of life. The ref was havin nothin of it – she may have been dazed but she wasn’t stupid!!!

When the game restarted Ossett hit the post a couple of times and then Joe Smith scored a great gawl after some fantastic work darn the left side from Bailey. 4-2 and surely it was aal ova. No such lack. Norf East only went and scawd again and that left us all chewing our nails until the ref blew the final whistle.

So, Ossett wan and are through to the next rand of the cap. The lads gave it everything and were all cream crackered (had to get that one in)

Just as we was leaving I narrowly missed treading on a small brown richard the third – and then it flew away!!
