Ossett Town U7 B v Dewsbury Rangers A
Team: Harley Trott (GK), Charlie Ambler, Henry Hughes, Isaac Donlon, Max Massey, Jacob Ward
The team started with Harley in goal, Charlie at the back, Henry & Max in midfield and Isaac up front. Ryan’s pre-match team talk with his tactics board got the team set up perfectly and they were on the attack from the start of the game. Charlie and Max were tackling strongly right from the start. A quick break down the right hand side gave Henry his first chance of the game, which he despatched well to make the score 1-0. Another good break down the right hand side, resulted in a chance for Isaac which he slotted into the bottom of the net to make it 2-0. Ossett were passing the ball well and creating a number of chances. A good team passing move involving everyone, resulted in Henry poking the ball home to make it 3-0. Henry soon completed his hat-trick to make it 4-0. Jacob was brought on and was determined to make an immediate impact. A good pass from Henry, which Jacob finished with his usual aplomb made it 5-0. Town were maintaining their shape – Harley didn’t have much to do but was being alert, Charlie was tackling hard and making some strong runs and Max was having a great game in midfield with some very good distribution of the ball. As the half wore on, Jacob bagged another couple of good goals to make it 7-0 at half-time.
Ryan got his tactics board out at half-time and was encouraging the team to maintain their shape and pass the ball more. Soon after half-time Isaac scored with another great finish to make it 8-0. Dewsbury started to come into the game a bit more but the whole team were tracking back really well and there was little threat to Harley’s goal. When Harley did have the ball, he was distributing it very well. Max continued to have a great game in midfield and was controlling the game. Max’s passing game was very strong and Jacob was unlucky not to score again after a Max through ball. Charlie was patrolling the back line really well but was also managing to break forward. He scored the 9th goal with a really powerful shot, which the keeper had no chance to save. Jacob then grabbed his 4th of the game with another good shot and Henry soon made it 11-0 after a good pass from Jacob. Isaac was playing in a more defensive role in the 2nd half and was showing great calmness in possession and breaking forward whenever he could. Town were unlucky not to add a couple more goals, with a couple of shots that hit the woodwork, They continued to pour forward and two more goals from Jacob and Isaac made the final score 13-0 to Ossett
Final score Ossett Town 13-0 Dewsbury Rangers (Goals: Jacob 5, Isaac 3, Charlie 1, Henry 4)
A very good team performance. The quality of the passing was fantastic and most of the goals involved most of the team rather than being individual goals. Everyone played their part really well. A special mention to Max who’s performance in midfield earned him the Man of the Match award.
