Ladies Second Team vs. Wigton Moor Match Report

Ossett Town hosted Wigton Moor in their third league game of the season.

Wigton started the game showing great pace and Ossett struggled to get a foothold in the game from the kick off. Ossett managed to organise their defence and maintained a 0-0 scoreline for the first 20 minutes. Eventually however, the relentless attacking pressure proved too hard to handle and Wigton edged in front. Ossett then suffered a double injury blow halfway through the first half and with only one substitute, they found themselves down to 10 players allowing Wigton to keep pressing & establish a 5 goal lead at half-time.

Ossett kept battling throughout the second half with some brilliant individual displays and did manage to pull a goal back. The misfortune of playing with one less player proved too great however, resulting in a 10-1 victory to Wigton Moor.

Ossett’s next fixture for their Second Team will be against Silsden next Sunday 4th October, to be played at the Angel Telecom Stadium. KO 2pm.
