Going forward the team look dangerous and full of goals Bailey Rawden and Luke Townend are all over the home defence and on the right Jacob Dransfield is every full backs nightmare with his direct running and skill . From one run he picks his way past 3 men and beats the keeper with a sweetly taken goal (7-3) and following a lovely turn the cross finds the net for his hat-trick  (8-3) . The final word goes to the home side as they bag their 4th but it's all in vain as the Mavericks run out worthy winners A tremendous performance from start to finish , plenty of endeavor that was rewarded with a glut of goals. At the back William Mullen , Samuel Bowers and Joshua Childe where immense whilst the midfield trio , James Ferguson , Luke Townend and Jake Gledhill where inventive and hardworking when coming back and up front Bailey Rawden never stopped working for his team and Jacob Dransfield was superb in attack during the 2nd half . Ossett Town Tornados 3 Nostell Miners Welfare 1

Scorers – Billy Pert , Lewis Stephens , Ewan Broadbent

Man of the match – Lewis Stephens/Ewan Broadbent

The Tornado’s lined up with James Ferguson in goal , Jacob Nash and Lauren Lovelock in defence and in front of them Lewis Stephens/Kieran Stephenson/Ewan Broadbent/Billy Pert formed a formidable looking ‘diamond’ formation . Jarrod Oakes started on the bench.

A bright start saw the Tornado’s roar out of traps and open the scoring when a quick through ball finds Billy Pert who’s finish with the outside of the right foot is sublime (1-0) . The new formation really seems to suit the boys as the passing is sharp and quick and with Jacob Nash and Lauren Lovelock looking on-form and confident, the Tornado’s are on top for long parts of the half . From a corner, the ball is whipped in to the back post by Ewan Broadbent and met first time by Lewis Stephens for the 2nd (2-0). Nostell attacks are dealt with confidence by Lauren Lovelock and Jarrod Oakes who’s interceptions are well timed and followed by accurate passes into the feet of the midfield . Kieran Stephenson’s influence on the game is massive as he attacks and defends giving his midfield teammates plenty of space to work with , but half time comes with score at (2-0)

The 2nd half kicks off with the teams refreshed and looking for goals , early chances fall to both Lewis Stephens and Billy Pert. Kieran Stephenson tries his luck after a trademark weaving run but Nostell hold firm.

The visitors look to test James Ferguson in goal but are restricted to long range shots that James mops up with ease. Jacob Nash , now in midfield , surges forward in search of an opening and Jarrod Oakes looks to create down the left , but the best chance of the half comes when Lewis Stephens breaks from midfield and whips in a inch perfect cross and Broadbent must score …..but the wind plays it’s part and the chance goes over * undeterred the team push forward again and a lovely through ball finds Ewan Broadbent lurking with a primed left foot and the score is increased(3-0) . 3 goals in the bag but the team wants that 0 after it and some fine defending from the impressive Lauren Lovelock , Jacob Nash with his electric pace and Jarrod Oakes’s calmness and skill on the ball and not forgetting James Ferguson who was rock solid again in goal the Tornado’s see out the game (3-0)

Another excellent outing for the Tornado’s , superb all round team play both going forward and in defence gave the team a deserved result , man of the match was a tough choice but for their attacking play, team work and general great attitude Lewis Stephens and Ewan Broadbent took home the trophies.

* for the sake of harmony at home the wind DID alter the flight of the ball…………whatever Dubes!!!!!

“ and Pollitt must score !..........”

Ossett Town Mavericks 6 Nostell Miners Welfare 0

Scorers – Jacob Dransfield (2) , Luke Townend (2) , James Higgins , Max Pollitt

Man of the match – Max Pollitt

The Mavericks line up with Stephen Hosty in goal , David Rushton and Samuel Bowers start in defence with Jacob Dransfield and James Higgins in midfield . Luke Townend and Jake Gledhill start up front . Max Pollitt start today on the bench.

Excellent recent form see’s the Mavericks confident and looking for goals and they hit the ground running as Jacob Dransfield bags an early strike (1-0) . The midfield is full of energy and skill as James Higgins and Jacob Dransfield take the game to Nostell creating several chances for the front pair . At the back David Rushton and Samuel Bowers look strong in the tackle and use the ball well either playing balls in the midfield or simply clearing the danger to keep Nostell at bay. Chances come and go for the Mavericks Jake Gledhill and Luke Townend threaten to increase the lead but that comes when a lightening break see’s a cross across the box and Max Pollitt roars on to it and must score !!... but the smashes his shot against the bar and following up James Higgins nets the 2nd (2-0) . Nostell are constantly frustrated by a combination of David Rushton/ Samuel Bowers and Stephen Hosty in goal and the half time score remains (2-0)

After a half like that , the team talk is easy ‘ same again lads ‘ and that’s just what happens as from the kick off Luke Townend smashes home the third from the edge of the box (3-0) and that is quickly followed by no 4 scored by the same lethal right foot belonging to Luke Townend (4-0) , No 5 almost come when Jacob Dransfield weaves his way through from the half way line and almost scores but he doesn’t have to wait long as he drills home his 2nd and his teams 5th (5-0) . It’s not all one way traffic , but despite the best efforts of a spirited Nostell side there is simply no way past Stephen Hosty , David Rushton and Samuel Bowers . Another flowing move see’s Max Pollitt grab a deserved goal he smashes home from the edge of the area (6-0) , the score could have been more but the Mavericks are happy with their haul and more importantly the clean sheet that emphasises the impressive team work .

Skillfull , fast and great passing sums up the Mavericks again today , goals come from all angles in this team and today was no different , Man of the match went to a hard working , skillfull player who puts in 100% every week , the kind of player every team needs , well done Max Pollitt

Man of the match – William Mullen

The Lynx take to the field with Elliott Robinson in goal with a solid looking back four of William Mullen and William Kenworthy in front of him . Jack Fisher , Owen Denning and Davey Ramsdale in midfield leaving Bailey Rawden and Stephen Hosty up front .

Looking continue the recent great run of form the Lynx take on Nostell and push forward from the kick off Bailey Rawden and Stephen Hosty look sharp up front with the midfield 3 of Jack Fisher,Owen Denning and and Davey Ramsdale supplying the service for them. At the back William Mullen and William Kenworthy give the defence a solid look providing the shield to keep Elliott Robinson underworked for long periods of the first half . But Nostell take the lead when a quick break gets them behind the defence and the ball finds the back of the net (0-1) . Nostell’s first goal of the morning seems to lift the visitors and a 2nd soon follows as the half time score is (0-2)

The 2nd half starts with a refreshed Lynx pushing forward and creating chances, Bailey Rawden has several openings but can’t get enough space to pick his spot , Stephen Hosty gets stuck into the midfield battle putting his all into his tackling , winning the ball for his team mates and the Lynx pull a goal back when the ball falls to Jack Fisher who slams the ball home from a tight angle (1-2) and is a fightback on the cards?

More chances fall to the front pair but just fall the wrong side of the post or saved by the keeper , Nostell increase their lead with 2 sharply taken goals (1-4) , and as the clock ticks down Owen Denning shoots from outside box and Jack Fisher has a snap shot well saved . The defence, William Mullen and William Kenworthy deserve credit for the way they play the ball out from defence always looking to bring the ball out and find there passes into midfield who push forward at every opportunity but despite this the game ends (1-4)

The Lynx put in a great performance against a strong Nostell side and never gave up , the man of the match award went to a defender who was strong and creative when on the ball , well done William Mullen

Scorers  Kieran Stephenson (2) , Jacob Nash

Man of the match  Jacob Nash

As the rain poured down in Nostell , the assembled press pack struggled to make any notes on todays games so this weeks reports will be brief !!!

The Tornados lined up with James Ferguson in goal , Lauren Lovelock and Jacob Nash gave the defence a familiar look . Lewis Stephens and Kieran Stephenson start in midfield with Billy Pert and Ewan Broadbent up front . Jarrod Oakes and Luke Townend start today on the bench.

The Tornados looked to continue their excellent run of form and started the first half in determined mood , passing the ball with purpose and creating several early chances . The first goal came from a wickedly whipped in corner from Ewan Broadbent which found Kieran Stephenson head and somehow finds it’s way in (1-0) . Nostell equalized when the ball runs loose in the box and the Nostell forward lashes home (1-1).

The Tornados push forward again and take the lead after great work from the grafting Billy Pert gives Kieran Stephenson space to pick his spot and score (2-1) , and following more great work by Kieran Stephenson the ball is laid back to Jacob Nash who lashes home from distance for the third (3-1)

The 2nd half see’s the home team pushing for a way back into the game and really test the defence but Lauren Lovelock , Jarrod Oakes and Jacob Nash cope with anything that Nostell have to offer , winning the ball but also feeding the midfield pair , Lewis Stephens and Kieran Stephenson , quality passes that gives them time to push forward feeding the front men Billy Pert , Luke Townend and Ewan Broadbent. Despite the teams best efforts there is no further score giving the Tornado’s an impressive win.

Another good performance from the guy’s today plenty of attacking play , passing and movement . Man of the match went to Jacob Nash for a outstanding display at the back and a long range blockbuster of a goal!

Man of the Match Jacob Dransfield

The Mavericks take to the field with Stephen Hosty in goal , David Rushton and William Mullen at the back with James Ferguson and Samuel Bowers in midfield . James Higgins and Joshua Childe start today up front with Jacob Dransfield on the bench.

The rain returned as the Mavericks kicked off the first half and have all the early pressure creating several chances but it needs a cool head to open the scoring and that is provided by Joshua Childe as he strokes home from inside the area following a flowing move on the right (1-0). The Mavericks continue to create chances but Nostell are quick on the break and David Rushton and William Mullen are more than up to the challenge. James Ferguson and Samuel Bowers are strolling around the midfield picking there passes and causing all sorts of problems for the home defence . Jacob Dransfield has several chances to increase the lead but half time arrives with the score (1-0).

The 2nd half see’s the Mavericks pick up where they left off in the first , Jacob Dransfields skill on the right is giving the defence a torrid time as he picks his passes and links play well . The 2nd goal comes following a searing break on the right by Jacob Dransfield , a clever pass in to Joshua Childe and as the shot is saved Samuel Bowers picks his spot and scores (2-0) . James Ferguson puts in a great shift on the right of midfield and despite resembling dancing on ice James Higgins is a constant danger with his fancy footwork and after great work inside the box James Higgins picks his spot and makes the score (3-0)

An excellent allround show today from the Mavericks in appalling weather but the attitude was spot on and they got what they deserved in a 3-0 win , Man of the match went to Jacob Dransfield for his excellent display and constant attacking threat

Man of the match Elliott Robinson

The Lynx take to the field with Elliott Robinson in goal , Matthew Norfolk and William Kenworthy in the defence . Jack Fisher and Max Pollitt make up the midfield with Bailey Rawden and Owen Denning up front ,Ioan Williams is the eager beaver on the bench.

The home team test the Lynx from the off , shooting from distance as they look for goals but in their way is the formidable figure of Elliott Robinson who produces a string of superb saves to keep the home team at bay . Jack Fisher and Max Pollitt get through plenty of work in midfield and in defence the Lynx are putting their bodies in the way of every shot , Ioan Williams blocks a shot with his head to typify the fighting spirit been shown but despite this the home team take the lead (0-1) As the half come to an end , Elliott Robinson produces a outstanding one handed stop to keep the score (0-1) at half time

The 2nd half starts with the Lynx looking refreshed and determined to get back into the game , Bailey Rawden has several chances to equalize and Max Pollitt has a shot saved but the goal comes following a great move and Max Pollitt picks his spot and scores (1-1) . The bit is firmly between the Lynx’s teeth now , Max Pollitt’s run and cross from the right is met perfectly at the near post and whipped in by Bailey Rawden (2-1) . Nostell push for the equalizer but Elliott Robinson is in inspired form pulling off a string of impressive saves but he can do nothing as Nostell score with a thunderous shot and the game ends (2-2)

Another fantastic show from the Lynx against strong opposition , built on magnificent defence from William Kenworthy and Matthew Norfolk and the hard graft and skill of Max Pollitt, Jack Fisher and Ioan Williams . Bailey Rawden and Owen Denning where a constant threat up front but for excellent saves and a superb all round show in goal Elliott Robinson was a deserved winner of the Man of the match award.

Ossett Town Tornados 6 Ackworth Allstars 4

Scorers – Billy Pert (2) , Lewis Stephens (3) , Ewan Broadbent

Man of the match – Billy Pert

After several weeks inactivity and an early morning pitch inspection,  the Tornados took to the field on a fresh and sunny morning in Ackworth and lined up with Stephen Hosty in goal , Jacob Nash and Lauren Lovelock formed the defence with Kieran Stephenson and Lewis Stephens in midfield . Billy Pert and Ewan Broadbent made up a potent starting line up . James Ferguson and Jarrod Oakes start on the bench.

Ackworth win the toss and kick off , an early Ackworth attack see the home team take the lead when a snap shot flashes past Stephen Hosty in goal (0-1) despite the early setback the Tornado’s start to put together some passes and create pressure of there own , Kieran Stephenson and Lewis Stephens combine to give Billy Pert the opportunity to test the home keeper who’s up to challenge this time . Surging from defence Lauren Lovelock finds Ewan Broadbent on the left who’s whipped in cross finds Billy Pert and he makes no mistake lashing home the equalizer (1-1) . The midfield pair , Lewis Stephens and Kieran Stephenson , are causing all kinds of problems with there surging runs and excellent passing . In defence Jacob Nash and Lauren Lovelock are giving the Ackworth front pair no room to work making well timed tackles and starting attacks with there precise passing. A quick break from the Ackworth forwards on the right and as the defence gets back in to position the cross is whipped in and strikes a hand !  and the penalty is given , Stephen Hosty looks enormous in goal but the shot flashes past him to give the home side a (1-2) half time lead.

It must be something in the Half time drinks but the Tornados look like they mean business as the 2nd half kicks off , sleeves rolled up and gloves cast a side , from the first attack Billy Pert smashes home the equalizer from a impossible angle (2-2) for his second of the game . James Ferguson plays the ball forward and finds Billy Pert on the left , the feet are like lightening as he passes the defender and forces a corner which is whipped in beats the keeper at the near post (3-2) . The attacking play is a joy to watch now , Ewan Broadbent produces some magic on the left and his cross is beaten away by the home keeper. Kieran Stephenson’s run is stopped by a stray foot and from the resulting free – kick Lewis Stephens slots home the 4th (4-2) . Ackworth break again and make the score (4-3) but the Tornados are hungry for goals and Jarrod Oakes through ball finds Kieran Stephenson  but his cross is deflected out for a corner which is bent in to near post and past the keeper by Ewan Broadbent for no5 (5-3). Billy Pert and Lauren Lovelock exchange passes only for Billy Pert to smash his shot against the bar but the 6th goal comes when Lewis Stephens wriggles free on the right and beat the keeper with a powerful shot (6-3) . Ackworth don’t give the ghost and pull a goal back (6-4) but despite the Allstars pushing hard the defence and in particular, Jarrod Oakes and Jacob Nash , the game finishes with a well deserved victory for the Tornados

Man of the match was a tough choice after such a excellent attacking display , Lewis Stephens and Kieran Stephenson continued their fine form .Lauren Lovelock and Jacob Nash had superb games at the back but for a razor sharp performance that could have yielded more than his two goals Billy Pert takes home the trophy

Scorers – Luke Townend (2) , James Higgins

Man of the match – David Rushton

Luke Townend and Jake Gledhill start today up front . Joshua Childe and Jacob Dransfield start today on the bench.

Ossett kick off and are on the back foot as Jack Fisher has to be sharp to keep out the Allstars .Luke Townend and Jake Gledhill combine well to give Luke Townend his first chance of the half. Winning the ball on the half way line William Mullen storms forward and wins a free kick that he takes but goes narrowly wide. At the back David Rushton’s timing is impeccable as he snuffs out several attacks , a feature of David Rushtons game is his excellent use of the ball and from a ball played forward , into feet , Jake Gledhill lays the ball off to Samuel Bowers who pings the ball forward to Luke Townend and the inevitable is only put on hold as the keeper make a fine stop but following up , like all good strikers do , Luke Townend opens the scoring (1-0) . James Higgins and Joshua Childe work the ball well on the right playing the ball in to Samuel Bowers who holds off the attention of the Allstars midfield and feeds the ball in to Luke Townend and the nets ripples again!! (2-0) Jacob Dransfield and James Higgins both have chances to score and at the back Joshua Childe is sharp and on his toes to keep out the dangerous forwards.Half Time (2-0)

The Allstars kick off the 2nd half and look for a way back into the game but David Rushton , now in midfield , clears up and launches a run forward that results in a corner kick . Jack Fisher and Jacob Dransfield combine to carve out a chance for Jacob Dransfield and a Samuel Bowers cross is inches away from the out stretched boot of Jake Gledhill. Luke Townend almost creates a goal but his cross is just to far in front of David Rushton , it would have been the least David Rushton deserved for what was a increasingly influential performance. No 3 dually arrives when another superb pass from Jake Gledhill finds James Higgins and the little man is cool in the extreme as he picks his spot (3-0). It’s not all one way as Ackworth show great spirit, none more so than Holly up front who gave the defence a real game today but in the end the Mavericks run out (3-0) winners

A superb showing from the Lynx today who showed what they where all about with some lively passing and incisive finishing William Mullen was a rock at the back , Samuel Bowers was colossal in midfield while Jake Gledhill was superb up front but for his defence/midfield/attack and great hair!!!!!!!! , David Rushton took home the man of the  match award

The Lynx go all out for the equalizer pushing forward and looking for the opening , several half chances go begging before a quick Bailey Rawden throw finds Hubert Ratkowski unmarked and his pass into space see's Max Pollitt breaking into the box and thunder home the deserved equalizer (1-1) . There is barely time to re-start the play as the final whistle blows and brings an end an excellant game. Another excellant display from the Lynx lots of drive and skill but also superb attitude . Several performances stood out, Elliott Robinson's midfield play was a pleasure to watch whilst up front Bailey Rawden and Ioan Williams where a handful for the visiting defence , but man of the match for his solid display at the back was Matthew Norfolk Well done today to all players from both teams , it was great to see 3 games that where open and evenly matched

The Tornados took to the field and lined up with Luke Townend in goal ,James Ferguson and Jacob Nash in defence and a midfield featuring the in form Kieran Stephenson and Lauren Lovelock . Up front Ewan Broadbent and Lewis Stephens completed the line up , Jarrod Oakes starts today on the bench .

Ossett kick off and play the ball around midfield before finding Lewis Stephens on the right whos powerful run and cross is cleared by the Nostell defence . The Ossett defence are tested in the next attack but Kieran Stephensons excellant covering see's the ball cleared for a corner . Ewan Broadbent finds space on the left to take on his marker but his cross is cleared for a corner that is swung in by Lewis Stephens. Kieran Stephenson and James Ferguson exchange passes on the right and then into midfield where Lauren Lovelock has the space to find Lewis Stephens on the right but the cross is well saved the keeper . Jacob Nash has to be at his best to twart another quick Nostell break , his neat pass gives Jarrod Oakes the time to pick out Kieran Stephenson on the left and his direct run causes panic in the home defence as they back off and allow the cross to find an un -marked Ewan Broadbent who slots home from just over a yard out (1-0) . The passing is again top notch from the Tornados , finding feet and allowing the play to be free flowing and entertaining to watch. As Nostel attack James Ferguson breaks from defence and finds Ewan Broadbent in space , the control is instant and the pass finds Lewis Stephens charging forward on the right , the cross is deep but the keeper is on the spot to clearthe danger and the half ends (1-0)

The 2nd half begins with Nostell pushing for the equaliser, first James Ferguson and then Kieran Stephenson have to be have to be sharp to clear the ball from the area , at the other end a clever pass finds Jacob Nash who tests the keeper from distance , Lauren Lovelock picks her way through with some delightful footwork and finds Ewan Broadbent on the left but his way is blocked by some determined defence . Nostell begin to really test the Tornados resolve but find firstly Jarrod Oakes and then Jacob Nash in determined mood as there well timed runs and clearances keep the score in Ossetts favour , but as the Tornados push forward Nostell break and equalize with the last kick of the game (1-1)

Another great showing from the Tornados , plenty of accurate passing and movement but also the teamwork was very much in evidence as the team had to work hard for the draw , agin several performances stood out Kieran Stephenson was a driving force in midfield as was Lauren Lovelock who's smart passing kept the team moving forward but for his excellant defence and superb distribution James Ferguson was Man of the match

Ossett Town Mavericks 7 Nostell Miners Welfare 0

Man of the Match - Joshua Childe

The Mavericks line up with Stephen Hosty in goal , David Rushton and Wiliam Mullen formed the defence with Jacob Dransfield and James Higgins in midfield . Luke Townend and Joshua Childe complete the line up with Samuel Bowers on the bench.

The Mavericks kick off and score with the first attack , apologies for the lack of detail but Luke Townends finish was far too quick for this resident sports reporter ! (1-0) . The midfield pair , Jacob Dransfield and James Higgins give us a sign of things to come as they combine to free Joshua Childe on the right but this time the home defence clear . Not to be denied , Joshua Childe smashes home a loose ball after excellant work by James Higgins (2-0) . With the next attack the Mavericks increase the lead when Luke Townend converts a pinpoint cross from the right (3-0) . With midfield and attack combining so well , at the back David Rushton and William Mullen have the time and space to bring the ball out of defence and find passes that get the team moving forward . The best move of the half see's Jacob Dransfield pick up a pass from William Mullen and move into space on the right , his superb first time ball to Joshua Childe splits the defence and only a fine save from the home keeper denies Luke Townend a 1st half hat-trick . More slick passing from first Luke Townend and and then Jacob Dransfield almost increase's the lead but the half ends (3-0)

After a well deserved half time drink the Mavericks pick up where they left off in the 1st half , James Higgins picks his way through the home defence to slot home no 4 (4-0) . A change up front see's William Mullen begin to terrorise the defence with his direct running , Jacob Dransfield picks the ball up on the edge of the area , turns, and plays in the arch poacher , Joshua Childe , for his 2nd and the Mavericks 5th (5-0) . More excellant build up play from Samuel Bowers and William Mullen almost increase's the lead but from a loose ball Luke Townend lashes home to claim his hat - trick (6-0) . Stephen Hosty pulls of two great saves to deny Nostell a consolation , a quick throw out to James Higgins see's the ball move forward to Luke Townend and Joshua Childe before finally falling to Jacob Dransfield who calmly completes the scoring (7-0) . The Mavericks could have scored more , their play certainly deserved more , William Mullen saw a thunderbolt well saved by the home keeper and Joshua Childe could easily have doubled his tally but the final score finished (7-0)

An another superb display by the Mavericks , the speed of passing and movement was a joy to watch . The defence , David Rushton and William Mullen was rock solid but also contributed to the attacking play with sharp accurate, passing into the midfield where Jacob Dransfield, James Higgins and Samuel Bowers were at there energetic best , buzzing around , creating chances and breaking up Nostell attacks while the front pair , Luke Townend and Joshua Childe shared five goals between them but could have easily doubled that . man of the match was a tough choice but for his energy, link up play and poachers instinct Joshua Childe was the worthy recipient

A strong Nostell side test the Lynx defence , but 1st Max Pollitt and then William Kenworthy are on hand to clear the danger , Hubert Ratkowski is his usual tough tacking self , winning the ball and using it to great effect . Owen Denning picks up a pass from Stephen Hosty and goes close with sharp shot and half time arrives with the scores (0-0) .

Nostell kick off the 2nd half and immediattly force Lewis Stephens into several sharp saves , Hubert Ratkowski and William Kenworthy are getting through an enormous amount of work as Nostell look a differant outfit from the 1st half and take the lead with a well worked goal (0-1). A great run by Owen Denning , three quarters the length of the field , forces a corner. A fast break see's Nostell increase the lead when a cross is forced home (0-2) The Lynx defence is on top form , Hubert Ratkowski and William Mullen are working overtime to keep the Nostell attack at bay , Ioan Williams and Jack Fishers midfield battling gives the midfield some respite but from another lighting attack Nostell net no 3 (0-3) , Lewis Stephens pulls off a sharp stop to prevent no4 but even he can't do anything as Nostell increase the lead further (0-4) . the Lynx continue to push forward looking for what would be a deserved goal but despite there best efforts the game ends (0-4)

A real game of two halves but the Lynx where at there best in both , the front pair , Max Pollitt and Ioan Williams where a constant danger to the home defence , in midfield Jack Fisher and Owen Denning worked tirelessly to create the openings and at the back Hubert Ratkowski and William Kenworthy where immense and for there efforts the pair shared the Man of the match

Ossett Town Tornados 5 Crofton 0

On a fresh Saturday morning the Tornados lined up with Max Pollitt in goal , Jacob Nash and Jarrad Oakes formed the back line with Lauren Lovelock and Lewis Stephens in midfield . Ewan Broadbent and Billy Pert completed the starting 7 , James Ferguson and Keiran Stephenson start on the bench.

The Tornados start the game brightly and take the lead when Ewan Broadbent converts from close range after excellant work by Lewis Stephens created the opening (1-0). the pressure form Ossett is relentless, Jacob Nash has a shot when a loose ball falls to him after a cornerkick is half cleared. Lewis Stephens goes close after a left wing cross falls to him in the box . The defensive pair of Jarrod Oakes and and Jacob Nash are getting plenty of time to pick there passes to the midfield pair , and after a pin point Jarrod Oakes pass Ewan Broadbent has the time to fine Lewis Stephens who makes the score (2-0) from close range. At the other end Max Pollitt has to be sharp and get down at the feet of Croftons forward to gather the ball and from his clearance Lewis Stephens thunderbolt rattles the bar but following up Billy Pert lashes home to make the half time score (3-0)

The 2nd half follows much the same pattern , plenty of Ossett attacks and a bored looking Max Pollitt at the other end , the score is (4-0) as Lauren Lovelock picks her way through the defence and slots home . James Ferguson has to be at his best to twart a quick Crofton attack and helped by Keiran Stephenson launch the ball forward for Billy Pert to try his luck . Jarrod Oakes's mazy run creates space for Jacob Nash to lash wide but the scoring continues as a cross from Ewan Broadbent is put away by Lewis Stephens to make the score (5-0). Lauren Lovelock , Lewis Stephens and Keiran Stephenson continue to pull the strings in midfield knowing that the defence is rock solid in the capable hands of Jarrod Oakes and James Ferguson . Jacob Nashes pace on the right creates panic in the home defence but despite some terrific efforts from Billy Pert and and Keiran Stephenson the game ends (5-0)

Following on from last weeks excellant display the Tornados played the ball around at pace and where a constant threat , Jarrod Oakes was excellant at the back , Lauren Lovelock was conposed in midfield and the front pair , Billy Pert and Ewan Broadbent combined well and in goal Max Pollitt kept his concentration well but Man of the Match for typically hard working performance was Lewis Stephens

Ossett Town Lynx 3 Crofton 0

Man of the match - Jack Fisher

The Mavericks line up with Bailey Rawden in goal , Hubert Ratkowski and Elliott Robinson at the back . William Kenworthy and Max Pollitt start the game in midfield with Matthew Norfolk and Jack Fisher up front.

From defence Elliott Robinsons run deep into the home defence almost brings no2 but from the next attack Max Pollitt makes no mistake as he smashes home from the edge of the area (2-0) . Despite the hard ground Hubert Ratkowski is flying into the tackle and from one such tackle the ball breaks to Jack Fisher , and after beating several opponents beats the keeper to make the half time score (3-0)

A half time reshuffle sees Matthew Norfolk take up the gloves and Bailey Rawden take his place in the front line. Elliott Robinson , now in midfield , has a run that is only stopped when 3 defenders converge on him. Bailey Rawden shows great composure to create a opening for William Kenworthy but his shot goes wide . Hubert Ratkowski almost nets his first for the club but the shot sgain flashes wide . With all this attack it's almost easy to forget that Matthew Norfolk is in goal but as Crofton attack he's quick and brave to get down at feet of the forward. Jack Fisher shows excellant pace to get back and clear another Crofton attack . The Lynx look for more goals but find the home keeper in fine form as he keeps the score at (3-0) and a well deserved Lynx victory

Several performances stood out today , Elliott Robinson was back to his marauding best and unlucky not to come away with a goal , Hubert Ratkowski again showed he not afraid to tackle anyone and anything but also showed some excellant touches and William Kenworthy was a giant in the midfield but Man of the match for his 2 goals and superb allround performance was Jack Fisher

Ossett Town U8s Tornados 3 v Ossett Town U9s 1

Scorers Keiran Stephenson (2) , Ewan Broadbent

With no games since before Christmas the Tornados faced the u9s at Haggs Hill and lined up with Max Pollitt in goal , Lauren Lovelock and James Ferguson at the back . Lewis Stephens and Keiran Stephenson in midfield with Luke Townend and Ewan Broadbent up front. Jacob Nash started on the bench

The first half was a fairly even affair , the Tornados passed the ball chrisply and the movement was sharp as they showed no signs of rustyness after a long break . The defensive pair of Lauren Lovelock and James Ferguson have to be on there toes as they face up to the tallest opponents they will have faced but cope with task well . In midfield Keiran Stephenson and Lewis Stephens are in electric form , Keiran’s work rate and skill is match by Lewis’s hard tacking and eye for the pass which gives the front pair of Luke Townend and Ewan Broadbent the chance to test the u9s defence with several surging runs and shots that are kept out by the keeper. The Tornados take the lead when Keiran Stephenson smashes home a loose ball after some intricate build up play (1-0) but as half time approaches the U9s equalize following a quick break and sweet finish makes it (1-1)

The second half follows the same pattern , Jacob Nash is now on providing energy and plenty of go forward in midfield . Keiran Stephenson is a constant thorn in the u9s side and caps a excellent display with a second goal of the morning to give the Tornados the lead (2-1). The u9s continue to test the tornados defence but James Ferguson and Lauren Lovelock are not giving an inch moping up attacks then feeding the midfield with quality passes that Lewis Stephens , Keiran Stephenson and Jacob Nash thrive on. The 3rd goal comes following a excellent ball forward form James Ferguson to Luke Townend , James follows his pass and takes a ball from Luke Townend and wins two tackles and passes to Ewan Broadbent who has the simple task of tapping home (3-1)

An excellent test for the Tornados against strong opposition , quality passing and movement where the key to this performance but also a great team work ethic shone through . In goal Max Pollitt was strong and determined with a strong pair in front of him in Lauren Lovelock and James Ferguson . the midfield was skilful and a real handful for the u9s , Keiran Stephenson in particular was outstanding , but with back-up of Lewis Stephens and Jacob Nash and up front a new pairing of Luke Townend and Ewan Broadbent never gave the defence time to settle – Well Done guys

The opening goal comes when , Joshua Childe is in the right place at the right time to tap home (1-0) the u9s come at the Mavericks hard now several shot are well saved and the defence has to be on there toes , David Rushton and Matthew Norfolk make several well timed interceptions , but the equalizer comes after a great shot from the right . Half time comes with the score (1-1) and both sides looking for the win in the 2nd half

A change in goal sees Jack Fisher take the gloves from Jacob Dransfield who takes up a role in midfield , the impact is instant Jacob controls the ball on the edge of the area ,turns , beats his man but is brought down , the referee takes an age to point to the spot , but the penalty is given and Jacob Dransfield drills home despite a great effort from the keeper (2-1). The game is real end to end stuff , the u9s really test Jack Fisher in goal who is equal to the challenge . The Mavericks hit top gear Jacob Dransfield drills home no3 (3-1) and that is quickly followed by no 4 as Joshua Childe shows his class by again being in the right spot to poach his 2nd and his sides 4th (4-1) and no 5 isn’t far behind as James Higgins picks his way through the defence and picks his spot (5-1) . At the other end the u9s win a penalty , but Jack Fisher pulls of a great save to keep out the u9s , but with the next attack the ball is slammed home t make the final score (5-2)

Another good outing for the Mavericks as they show some class to see off there opponents , Samuel Bowers put in a great shift in midfield , tackling and starting attacks . Joshua Childe poached two fine goals and Jacob Dransfield 2nd half show was a joy to watch and also the defensive pair of David Rushton and Matthew Norfolk stood out with there interceptions but also the use of the ball. The Tornado's work the ball well down their right and win a corner that is whipped in on to head of Keiran Stephenson but the keeper pulls off a great stop. Lewis Stephens surges forward on the right and puts in a cross that Ewan Broadbent cant quite squeeze in at the far post. James Ferguson and Jacob Nash show great determination to keep the Tornado's in front and clear the ball for a corner that when taken catches the defence flat footed and makes the score (2-2). With the clock ticking both sides are going all out for the win , Stanningley pepper the Ossett goal but find the back 3 in solid mood , in front of them the midfield duo of Keiran Stephenson and Lewis Stephens are working hard to keep the ball moving forward to Ewan Broadbent and this leads to the winner when a strong Lewis Stephens run results in a free kick on the right of the area. Standing over it Ewan Broadbent picks his spot and scores (3-2) A thoroughly deserved win against a very good team , several displays stood out namely Keiran Stephenson in midfield and Lauren Lovelock in defence but for what was a true team effort man of the match was shared by the whole team , WELL DONE

Jake Gledhill's super midfield work gives James Higgins the time to find Jacob Dransfield but the Kippax defence clear , Kippax look like increasing the lead but David Rushton and Jacob Dransfield combine to clear the danger. Ossett go for the equalizer , Jake Gledhill plays in Jacob Dransfield , Samuel Bowers and Joshua Childe combine to find Jacob Dransfield who's run and pass finds Joshua Childe on the overlap , the return ball is perfect for Jacob Dransfield to drill home (1-1) Half time

The Break seems to inspire the Mavericks , William Mullen wins the ball and charges forward playing in Joshua Childe for a chance, from the corner Luke Townend shots wide but Ossett take the lead when James Higgins picks his way through the defence and calmly makes it (2-1) . The Mavericks hit top gear now, a sweeping move sees Jacob Dransfield play in Luke Townend who's cross is slammed on to the bar by James Higgins then an almost identical move sees Jacob Dransfield cross , James Higgins hit the post but following up Joshua Childe's left boot makes it (3-1)

A real return to form for the Mavericks with a excellent team display , man of the match could have gone several ways but for his hard work and non stop battling display Jake Gledhill took the plaudits! Well done.

Ossett Town Tornado's 3 v Nostell Miners Welfare 3

Scorers: Ewan Broadbent (2)  James Ferguson (1)

Man of the Match: Ewan Broadbent For the trip to Nostell the Tornado's lined up with Max Pollit in goal, Lauren Lovelock and James Ferguson at the back with Lewis Stephens, Ewan Broadbent and Jacob Nash in midfield with Billy Pert up front, Jarrod Oakes started on the bench.  Ossett kicked off and attacked  forcing an early corner. Nostell replied with a corner of there own and took the lead with a shot that Max Pollit could do little about (0-1).  This seems to wake the Tornado's and the passing game starts to flow Ewan Broadbent and Billy Pert exchange passes to give Jacob Nash the chance to shoot. Billy Pert has a snap shot well saved as Ossett search for the equalizer.  At the back Lauren Lovelock and James Ferguson have their hands full with the lively Nostell attack, but Billy Pert is looking sharp today and his hard work and the persistence leads to the equaliser as he pressures the defence, wins the ball, then puts it on a plate for Ewan Broadbent (1-1).  From the re-start Nostell attack and re-gain the lead (1-2) and as the half time break gets closer Billy Pert's surging run and cross almost levels the scores but half time arrives with the score at (1-2).  The second half starts with Jarrod Oakes on to partner James Ferguson and both have to defend well as Nostell push for a third.  Lewis Stephens is a handful on the right with his surging runs, Jacob Nash and Lauren Lovelock combine to allow Ewan Broadbent to find Billy Pert who's run and shot deserved more.  Nostell break again and find the gap in midfield to make the score (1-3).  The Tornado's finally start to blow now and James Ferguson pushes into midfield and the ball starts to find red feet.  Lewis Stephens run and cross finds Ewan Broadbent un-marked to make the score (2-3).  Lauren Lovelocks midfield work gives Ewan Broadbent chance to get a run at Nostell's defence, a Lewis Stephens cross finds Jacob Nash who pressures Nostell into a loose pass that finds James Ferguson who picks his spot and equalises (3-3).  Ossett push for the winner but despite their best efforts the game ends in a draw (3-3). A hard fought game which the Tornado's had to drag themselves into, after a lacklustre first half, the second half was electric, quality passing and movement was typified by Ewan Broadbent who turned in a man of the match performance that yielded 2 goals and preserved the unbeaten run. Well done guys.

Ossett Town Mavericks (1) v Nostell Miners Welfare (2)

Scorer: Max Pollit

Man of the Match: William Mullen The Mavericks lined up with Stephen Hosty in goal , David Rushton and William Mullen at the back with Joshua Childe and Jacob Dransfield in midfield leaving Jake Gledhill and Luke Townend up front . Max Pollitt started on the bench Ossett kicked off and immediately attacked , Luke Townends right wing run threatened an early goal , Jacob Dransfield passing in midfield is both quality and accurate as he finds Luke Townend who gets his shot away but the keeper is well placed to save. At the back David Rushton and William Mullen are looking strong , sweeping up any loose balls and playing quick , quality balls into the midfield pair of Joshua Childe and Jacob Dransfield who in turn find Jake Gledhill and Luke Townend eager to attack the Nostell goal. Nostell are again looking lively up front but Stephen Hosty is in confident mood covering the angles well, and despite the Nostell goal living a charmed life the half ends goalless (0-0) The 2nd half kicks off with the Mavericks looking for the opening goal , Jacob Dransfields run and cross finds Luke Townends superb run that deserved more than a corner. David Rushton and William Mullen are rock solid at the back ensuring that Stephen Hosty is having a quiet morning , in midfield Joshua Childe is having a effective game getting the ball and giving it with ease allowing Jake Gledhill the time to run at , and worry ,the Nostell defence. Against the run of play Nostell open the scoring (0-1) and from the re-start score again (0-2). Max Politt is on now and driving his team forward , after a thunderous William Mullen tackle wins the ball Max Pollitt has the time and space to drill home (1-2) Ossett push for the equalizer but despite Jake Gledhill shooting wide after a quick corner the game ends (1-2)The passing and movement was superb today from the Mavericks in particular Jacob Dransfield who was  at the heart of all the midfield play and Luke Townend who on another day would have had at least a goal to show for his efforts but man of the match went William Mullen who excellant defence and reading of the game kept Nostell out for long periods , well done

Ossett Town Lynx 1 Nostell Miners Welfare 1

Scorer - Bailey Rawden

Man of the match - William Kenworthy  The Lynx took to the field Jacob Nash in goal , Matthew Norfolk and Elliott Robinson in defence, a midfield of William Kenworthy and Hubert Ratkowski (making his debut) with Bailey Rawden and Jack Fisher up front , Ioan Williams starts today on the bench. Ossett kick off against a strong Nostell team and find themselves on the back foot as Nostell attack and open the scoring with a rasping drive (0-1) Matthew Norfolk and Elliott Robinson both have runs from defence feeding the ball into the energetic midfield pair of Hubert Ratkowski and William Kenworthy , Bailley Rawden and Jack Fisher up front are giving the Nostell defence a torrid time forcing hurried clearances and generally making a nuisance of themselves in search of the equailizer. Ioan Williams is now on the field and opens his own box of tricks flicking the ball nonchalantly about giving William Kenworthy space to launch raids forward with Jack Fisher in support but at half time the score is still (0-1) to the hosts Nostell start the 2nd half and are put under early pressure as Jack Fisher storms forward in search of the equalizer with the next attack Lewis Stephens( on in place of Jacob Nash In goal) launches the ball forward , Bailey Rawden controls in an instant , turns and shoots but his shot flashes wide. Nostell are getting no time in midfield now, Hubert Ratkowski and William Kenworthy are snapping into tackles now and from a corner Hubert Ratkowski has a snap shot that is inches wide. Ioan Williams start the attack that leads to the Ossetts goal playing the ball wide to William Kenworthy who's cross finds Bailey Rawden well placed to slam home the equalizer (1-1). Nostell are finding Lewis Stephens a tough nut to crack as shot after shot is fended off  by the outstanding pair off Matthew Norfolk and Elliott Robinson . The game ends all square after a entertaining game , man of the match was a tough choice to make but for his midfield work and constant 'drive forward' William Kenworthy was a worthy winner , special mention to his midfield partner Hubert Ratkowski for a promising debut , Well done guys

Ossett Town Tornado's 1 v 0 Wortley

Scorer - James Ferguson

Man of the Match - James Ferguson

The in-form Tornado's lined up with a familiar look about them, Max Pollit in goal, Jarrod Oakes and James Ferguson at the back and in midfield Lauren Lovelock and Lewis Stephens, with Ewan Broadbent and Kieran Stephenson up front. Jacob Nash started on the bench. Wortley won the toss and kick off with the wind at their backs, early Ossett pressure sees Lewis Stephens and Lauren Lovelock combine to set Ewan Broadbent free on the left but Wortley force the ball out for a throw in.

Wortley's first attack finds Jarrod Oakes hard to pass as he clears and sets Lewis Stephens away on the right but his early cross is gathered by the keeper.  Kieran Stephenson wins the ball in midfield who instantly finds Ewan Broadbent on the left, who beats his man and whips in a cross that is inches away from Kieran Stephenson's head and the opening goal, with the next attack Lauren Lovelock's weaving run beat three men before find Ewan Broadbent who's snap shot goes wide.

It's not all one way traffic but Wortley are finding Jarrod Oakes and James Ferguson in top form.  Jacob Nash is on now and joining what is becoming a real midfield battle the but the half ends all square (0-0).

The second half starts with Lauren Lovelock storming down the right and crossing but the keeper collects.  Chasing the first goal Ossett really pile on the pressure, James Ferguson tries his luck from a distance, Lewis Stephens whips in a cross that is cleared from the toe of Jacob Nash for a corner ,which is played first time for Ewan Broadbent whos shot goes wide. Lewis Stephens and Ewan Broadbent combine to give James Ferguson time to shoot.

The Ossett midfield are having to work overtime, Lauren Lovelock and Jacob Nash combine and force another corner with the clock ticking.  The ball is bent in by Lewis Stephens and the ball is half cleared to the lurking James Ferguson, who cleverly picks his spot to open the scoring (1-0).  There is enough time left to take the kick off but that's all - Full time (1-0). A deserved win for the Tornado's but one that they had to work hard for against a committed Wortley side.

Man of the match was a tough choice with so many excellent performances, but James Ferguson stood out with performance that was calm, assured and in the end, match winning! Well done.

Ossett Town Mavericks 0 - 4 Wortley

Man of the Match - Joshua Childe

The Mavericks looked to continue there good form and lined up with Stephen Hosty in goal, Samuel Bowers and Joshua Childe in defence, David Rushton and Luke Townend in midfield with a front of Jake Gledhill and James Higgins.  Jacob Dransfield started on the bench.  Wortley kicked off and immediately attacked but Samuel Bowers cleared any danger, James Higgins and David Rushton both have chances to score as the ball broke to each of them.

More Wortley pressure sees Joshua Chile stop the attack then break down the left flank playing an inch perfect ball to James Higgins who sees his shot flash wide.  Wortley break and open the scoring (0-1).  Ossett push again and win a corner which is played short to Samuel Bowers who's smart ball back to James Higgins, gives him the chance to pick out Luke Townend only to see his shot well saved!

Wortley attack at speed and increased the lead (0-2).  Luke Townend creates a chance following superb play from Jake Gledhill but from his cross, Jacob Dransfield's shot flies over the bar.  From another Wortley attack the score is increased to (0-3).  Stephen Hosty is busy in goal but despite making plenty of good saves can't do anything as the half time score is (0-4).

Ossett start the second half fresh from a half time team talk that seems to have inspired the Mavericks, James Higgins crosses for David Rushton to shoot wide.  Wortley break and look dangerous until the superb Samuel Bower's last ditch tackle prevents more goals.  More Ossett pressure sees chances for James Higgins, from a corner Jake Gledhill shoots wide, Luke Townend's cross sees Joshua Childe force the keeper into a sharp save, it's all Ossett now, Jacob Dransfield has a shot blocked, Jake Gledhill shoots wide but despite constant pressure the Mavericks are frustrated and the game ends (0-4).

A game of two halves for the Mavericks, not a at the races in the first half but alive and sharp in the second half, only the second defeat of the season for the Mavericks but one that will stand them in good stead for the games ahead.

Man of the match went to Joshua Childe for a great performance in defence AND attack showing great intelligence in stopping and starting attacks.  Well done!

Ossett Town Lynx 3 v 1Wortley

Scorers - Bailey Rawdon (3)

Man of the Match  - Max Pollit

As the weather turned at Highfields the Lynx lined up with William Mullen in goal, Jack Fisher and Matthew Norfolk in defence, Max Pollit and William Kenworthy in midfield with a front three of Bailey Rawdon, Sean Smith and Ioan Williams.  Stephen Hosty started on the bench.

The Lynx start in good form William Kenworthy and Max Pollit are in good shape in midfield and William Kenworthys hard work gives Max Pollit the platform to show the "Skills that pay the bills".  Bailey Rawdon is looking dangerous upfront with Sean Smith and Ioan Williams giving great support.  Wortleys attacks are snuffed out by Jack Fisher and Matthew Norfolk in defence who both attack when the chance presents itself but against the run of play, Wortley break and score (0-1) giving William Mullen no chance.

Playing into the wind is proving a tough task for the Lynx but the effort and enthusiasm is excellent but despite this the half ends (0-1).

The second half starts, fresh from a half time team talk that seems to have stirred the Lynx, Max Pollit is driving the team on in midfield, assisted by the hard work of William Kenworthy and Baily Rawdon converts a chance to make the score (1-1).

Jack Fisher is proving to be a rock at the back giving the midfield the opportunity to drive forward and Ossett take the lead when another chance falls to the dangerous Bailey Rawdon and the lead is taken (2-1).

Sean Smith starts the attack that seals the game playing the ball into Stephen Hosty whose clever pass finds Ioan Williams who in turn finds Bailey Rawdon and he makes no mistake to complete the scoring and his hat trick (3-1).

The Lynx could have added more but Wortleys keeper is more than a match for the what the Lynx have to throw at him.   Credit has to go to both teams who played out a fantastic match in foul weather and never once let the effort drop below than 110%.

Man of the match was again a tough choice but for his skill, drive and determination Max Pollit was a worthy recipient.

Well done to all players on both sides for a marvellous mornings football.  Well done!

Ossett Town 5 Hall Green United 1

Scorers - Keiran Stephenson (2), Lewis Stephens , Billy Pert, James Ferguson

Continuing there recent good form the Tornados passing and movement was crisp and sharp as the ball worked its way up field through Lewis Stephens and Ewan Broadbent before Lauren Lovelocks shot was well saved . From the next attack Lewis Stephens' shot was deflected wide for a corner , which was whipped in and cleared to the feet of James 'boom boom' Ferguson who's shot screamed into the roof of the net to make the score (2-0) . The shots are flying in now Ewan Broadbent hits the bar , Jarrod Oakes has a go from distance before the lead is increased when Lewis Stephens rifles one home from outside the box (3-0) .At the back Max Pollitt is looking alert to anything that finds away through the excellant defending of James Ferguson and Jarrod Oakes , Hall Green push looking for there opener but excellant defence again keeps United out . Ossett continue to ping the ball about looking confident that more goals are around the corner but despite the best efforts of a fresh looking Billy Pert , Hall Green break and score with a well taken goal (3-1) Half Time The 2nd half starts with more Tornados pressure a Lewis Stephens run and cross is flicked on to the post by Ewan Broadbent , Biily Pert has a great run that is unlucky not to bring a 4th . The pressure is relentless as Keiran Stephenson shot is well saved and Billy Pert tests the keeper before the same combination hits first the post then the bar with shots. Lauren Lovelock and Jacob Nash are now pulling the strings in midfield and set up Keiran Stephenson for a shot that is saved but following up Billy Pert nets his first of the season to make the score (4-1) , as all this goes on at one end Max Pollitt has to be at his best to hold back what looked like an enourmous yawn at the other end!!! Jarrod Oakes is looking composed on his first outing for the Tornados and his defensive partner James Ferguson continues to fire in efforts from long range the game is put to bed when Keiran Stephenson nets his 2nd from close range - Full Time (5-1)Another excellant passing display from the Tornados against a sprited Hall Green team , several performances stood out Lauren Lovelock unselfish midfield play , James Fergusons solid defence and Ewan Broadbents forward play, but man of the match went to Keiran Stephenson who was a constant threat ,creating plenty but also scoring two well taken goals - well done guys

The In form Mavericks lined up with Stephen Hosty in goal , in defence Samuel Bowers and Joshua Childe with Jacob Dransfield and David Rushton in midfield. Luke Townend and Jake Gledhill lead the way up front , Jack Fisher and Max Pollitt start on the bench. The game starts at a furious pace Luke Townend has a early shot saved and Joshua Childe makes a surging run from defence that sees Jacob Dransfield shot wide. The Mavericks midfield has its passing boots on as David Rushtons clever pass frees Luke Townend to run on goal only for his shot to be well saved by what will be a busy keeper, Jacob Dransfield finds David Rushton un -marked only for the shot to flash wide . David Rushton seems to be revelling in his midfield role setting up chances for Jacob Dransfield and Max Pollitt as well as providing cover for the defence which gives Samuel Bowers and Joshua Childe the security to break forward. Jake Gledhill is again harrassing the Hall Green defence into mistakes that give Luke Townend and Jack Fisher the chance to break the deadlock and as the half comes to an end Stephen Hosty denies Hall Green a goal with a excellant stop Half time (0-0) Hall Green start the 2nd half and immediatatly force a corner which is whipped in but Stephen Hosty saves well at the near post, Samuel Bowers breaks from defence and sees his shot well saved but the opening goal arrives when Luke Townend drills home following good work by Jake Gledhill (1-0) Max Pollitt tries his luck from distance and Jack Fisher has to be sharp to keep the Mavericks in front but despite this Hall Green equalize with a well taken goal (1-1) . Stung by this Ossett push on, Jacob Dransfields sharp play on the right gives David Rushton the chance to drill home from just inside the box (2-1) Samuel Bowers and Joshua Childe are again looking rock solid at the back with Samuel Bowers winning a 50/50 ball and passing to David Rushton  who runs at the Hall Green defence and finds Luke Townend with a pass that makes the job of netting easy (3-1) .More chances come with Jake Gledhill unlucky not to get on the score sheet with a snap shot and Jack Fisher testing the keeper from close range but the game ends with Mavericks winning (3-1) and there winning streak continuesAnother test past by the Mavericks against a well organized team who made the guys work hard, in defence Joshua Childe and Samuel Bowers where rock solid and in midfield Jacob Dransfield was tireless in his efforts but man of the match went a player who rose to the challenge of a different role and delivered a excellent performance capped with his first goal of the season - David Rushton Well Done Mavericks!

Ossett Town Tornados 3 Rothwell Town 3

Scorers - Jacob Nash , Ewan Broadbent (2)

Man of the match - Kieran Stephenson

On a bright and warm saturday morning the Tornados lined with Stephen Hosty in goal , Lauren Lovelock and David Rushton at the back , a midfield 3 of Keiran Stephenson , Lewis Stephens and Jacob Nash with Ewan Broadbent up front . James Ferguson started today on the bench

Rothwell kicked off and the Ossett midfield sprang in to action with Keiran Stephenson and Lewis Stephens both launching attacks on the Rothwell goal but where unable to get the better of a well marshalled defence , at the other end Stephen Hosty is forced into a fine save to keep the scores level but the deadlock is broken when Rothwell take the lead with long range strike (0-1) . Stung by the goal Ossett go in search of the equalizer Keiran Stephensons run and cross is cleared and Lewis Stephens great turn and pass to Ewan Broadbent results in a corner kick which is cleared by Rothwells defence, at the other end David rushton and Lauren Lovelock continue to keep Rothwells attacks quiet with a series of well timed tackles and interceptions. James Fergusons clever pass allows Lewis Stephens the time to pick out Jacob Nash who makes no mistake with a sweet left foot shot to level the scores (1-1) . Rothwells answer is immediate as they restore the lead with a well taken goal (1-2) , the half ends with Ossett and in particular James Ferguson and Lauren Lovelock showing great determination to protect there keeper and ensure that the half time score is (1-2)

The 2nd half starts with Rothwell attacking in search of another goal but Lewis Stephens and Keiran Stephenson make some excellant tackles to keep Rothwell quiet, at the other Jacob Nash's persistence forces a corner that James Ferguson swings in and Jacob Nash lashes over the the bar ,the equaliser comes when Ewan Broadbent receives the ball , beats his man and picks his spot with a calm right foot finish (2-2) .Ossett are energised by the goal and go for more , Keiran Stephenson , having his best game of the season so far , wins a corner that is floated over by Ewan Broadbent and met on the volley by James Ferguson only to see it come back of the post . With Ossett pushing for more Rothwell hit on the break and make the score (2-3) but heads never go down as first Ewan Broadbent has a chance after James Fergusons pass gives him time for a shot and then another great ball from James Ferguson to Ewan Broadbent who in turn finds Lauren Lovelock well placed to test the keeper . With the clock ticking and the game entering ' Ferguson' time!, Keiran Stephenson go's on one last run , and produces a slide rule through ball to Ewan Broadbent who makes no mistake as he thunders his shot past the keeper to make the score (3-3) . Full time

A real test today for the Tornados but again they rose to the challenge that Rothwell presented to maintain there unbeaten start to the season , several performances caught eye , David Rushton for his defensive work , Lewis Stephens was a tiger in the tackle but man of the match went to Keiran Stephenson for a excellant midfield display

Ossett Town Mavericks 5 Rothwell Town 2

Scorers - Jacob Dransfield (2) , James Higgins (2) , Joshua Childe

Man of the match - Joshua Childe

The in form Mavericks lined up with Max Pollitt in goal ,in defence Jarrod Oakes and Samuel Bowers with Jacob Dransfield and Joshua Childe in midfield . In attack James Higgins and Luke Townend completed the line up , Owen Denning starts on the bench

Ossett Town kicked off and with in seconds are behind as Rothwell win a free kick which is lashed home giving Max Pollitt in goal a first touch he didnt want as he picks the ball out of his net (0-1) . Ossett respond with Luke Townend winning a corner which is cleared ,and James Higgins and Jarrod Oakes both have runs that deserved more. Ossett test the keeper when James Higgins whips in a shot that is well saved but the equalizer comes when another James Higgins shot is spilled by the keeper to feet of Joshua Childe who nets his first of the season from close range (1-1) . Rothwells goal is under seige as Joshua Childe , Jacob Dransfield and James Higgins all have chances to increase the lead , at the other end Jarrod Oakes and Samuel Bowers are on top form snuffing out Rothwell attacks and providing the launch pad for the front guys to do what they do best , score goals! and these come like london buses as James Higgins gives Ossett the lead with smart finish(2-1) and then after another James Higgins run and shot Jacob Dransfield is well placed to net with a lovely side foot finish (3-1) . The pressure is relentless from the Mavericks as chance after chance is either saved or cleared but as the half comes to close Rothwell strike to make the half time score (3-2)

Rothwell kick off the 2nd half and hit the post with tremendous shot , the game is being played at a excellant pace with chances at both ends of pitch , Max Pollitt has to make a smart save as Rothwell try their luck from distance but after making another good stop Max Pollitt launches a huge goal kick that finds James Higgins who calmly beats the keeper (4-2) to give Ossett the 2 goal cushion back. Rothwell look dangerous on the break but with Owen Denning and Jarrod Oakes looking assured at the back Joshua Childe

forces a corner that is quickly taken by Luke Townend to Jacob Dransfield whos first touch gives him time to slot home his second and Ossetts 5th.(5-2) There is still time for Rothwell to test Max Pollitt , a test that he is more than up to , and the increasingly impressive Jarrod Oakes to hits a post after a surging run . Full time (5-2)

An excellant performance from the Mavericks against a strong Rothwell outfit ,as the passing and movement shown by the players gets better and better the man of the match gets harder to chose , but for his hardworking ,nonstop performance and a bravely taken first goal of the season Joshua Childe was a derserved winner

Ossett Town Lynx 0 Rothwell Town 1

Man of the match - Team award

The Lynx lined up with Lewis Stephens in goal , Jack Fisher and William Mullen at the back , a midfield duo of Ioan Williams and Max Pollitt, and up front to start with Elliott Robinson and Matthew Norfolk . Sean Smith and Jake Gledhill start on the bench

Ossett kick off and are immediately put under pressure as Rothwell win a corner kick but the Lynx look determined to keep there goal intact but also to launch attacks of their own Elliott Robinsons powerful run threatens the break through and with Matthew Norfolk snapping at the heels of any Rothwell player with the ball the Lynx show Rothwell that they won't have it all there own way. From nowhere Elliott Robinson shoots at goal , and only a deflection saves Rothwell from going behind . Ossetts defence is under constant pressure but William Mullen and Jack Fisher are superb as they clear attack after attack , but at the other end a Max Pollitt shot flashes wide and Jake Gledhill is giving the Rothwell defence no peace as he chases down every ball .Sean Smith and Ioan Wiiliams's hard work in midfield doesn't go unnoticed as Rothwell have to work hard for the lead which comes when a long range shot beats Lewis Stephens (0-1) Half Time

You could of been forgiven in thinking Sven Goran Erikksson was in charge ,as Rothwell fielded a completely changed lined up for the 2nd half but whoever was playing the Lynx would have kept them out as Lewis Stephens produces a string of fine saves to keep the score 0-1 and with Lewis Stephens also supplying the marauding Jake Gledhill with a constant supply of through balls to chase down .But despite this the Lynx find Rothwell a tough nut to crack, Jack Fisher , who had passed a late fitness test to play , is excellant in defence with his partner William Mullen and with the added insurance of Matthew Norfolk and Elliott Robinson doing the the hard work in front of them Ossett restrict Rothwell to long range shots only and the game ends (0-1)

A game that turned out to be a real test for the Lynx but one that was passed with flying colours as they more than held there own. Again the Man of the match award was a tough choice ,special mention to Matthew Norfolk for an all action display and Jake Gledhill who chased every ball and on another day would have more to show for his efforts , but for there collective team effort the award was shared by the team - WELL DONE guys

Attack after attack followed with Jacob Nash shooting wide, Lewis Stephens testing the keeper from long range before James's run and cross found Kieran who made no mistake from close range, the Tornado's where threatening to cut loose now.  Lewis Stephen's surging run and cross saw the Tingley defence deflect the ball home (4-2). Jacob then pinned his ears back and ran at the overworked Tigers defence before finding Billy who was again foiled by the Tigers excellent keeper.  The fifth goal arrived after Lewis's direct run and astute pass found Ewan well placed to complete his hat trick (5 -2). Another run from hardworking Billy resulted in a quickly taken corner which Lewis bent into the top corner (6-2).  The Tigers never gave up and forged a corner that was blocked on the line by Lewis and then forced David into a great save. Built on the solid defence of Lauren and Jacob, Ossett kept on the pressure and Kieran ran at the defence only to be foiled by the Tigers defence, undeterred another mazy run from Kieran finds Lewis who's cheeky flick makes it 7-2 and the scoring was completed with Kieran getting a deserved goal (8-2). After the summer break the Tornado's looked hungry and refreshed producing a superb performance on a difficult pitch, Man of the Match went to Ewan for his hat trick but also for a hard working and skillful performance.  A great start to the season.
