Ossett Town U13s reached the final of the Charles Rice League Cup with impressive victories over Hoyland Town in the quarter finals and Walton Wolves in the semi final.

Ossett Town 2 v 1 Hoyland Town - League Cup (Quarter final)

Ossett Town Goalscorers : Luke Smith and Joe Fraser

Ossett defeated Hoyland Town 2-1 in a tense encounter with first half goals from Luke Smith and man of the match Joe Fraser. Hoyland pulled one back before half time but Ossett held on for a well deserved win in an end to end second half.

In another thrilling game Ossett were 2-1 victors over Walton Wolves. Ossett opened the scoring with a well taken goal from Luke Smith after 5 minutes only for Walton to equalize early in the second half. The game was decided by a Thomas Smith wonder strike with 5 minutes remaining to secure a place in the final for Ossett.

The whole team were awarded the man of the match award for a superb team effort.

Sandal Utd 4 v 2 Ossett Town - Charles Rice Premier League


Ossett Town U13s fell to a disappointing 4-2 defeat at the hands of Sandal United in this Charles Rice Premier League fixture.

In apalling conditions Sandal coped best in the first half scoring thre goals to take a comfortable advantage in to the half time break.

The second half was dominated by Ossett and two goals from Aiden Midgley got them back into the match.

Ossett pressed for an equalizer but it was Sandal who netted a break away fourth goal to put the result beyond any doubt.

Liam Scott was named man of the match for Ossett.

Ossett Town 4 v 1 Moorthorpe Rangers - Charles Rice Premier League


Ossett Town U13s returned to winning ways with a comfortable 4-1 victory over Moorthorpe Rangers in this Charles Rice Premier League fixture.

Ossett scored three first half goals through Thomas Smith, Joe Fraser and Liam Scott to take a commanding lead into the half time break.

The second half was a more even contest and Moorthorpe got a goal back from the penalty spot before Thomas Smith got his second goal to put the result beyond any doubt.

Outstanding goalkeeper Ryan Kellett scooped the man of the match award for Ossett.

Stanley Utd 3 v 2 Ossett Town - Charles Rice Premier League


Ossett Town U13s were defeated 3-2 in a tight game against Stanley United in the Charles Rice Premier League.

Stanley took the lead only for Ossett to spring into life with goals from Luke Smith and Thomas Smith to go into the interval with a 2-1 advantage.

Stanley equalised early in the second half and scored the winner with minutes to spare to take the three points.

Luke Smith was named as Ossett's man of the match

Wigton Moor 3 v 2 Ossett Town (AET) - Millenium Cup Semi Final

Ossett Town U13s were eventually beaten 3-2 in extra time in an enthralling Millenium Cup semi final at high flying Wigton Moor.

Wigton had the better of the first half and capitalised on their dominance by scoring two goals before the break.

Ossett turned the tables in the second half and goals from Oliver Audsley and Thomas Smith levelled the scores. Wigton were awarded a dubious penalty late in the second half which was superbly saved by Ossett keeper Tom Padgett.

The game went into extra time and both sides had chances to win the game, but it was Wigton who managed to carve out a winner during the first period.

Ossett rallied once again but were unable to get an equalizer.

The whole team were superb against a highly regarded Wigton side and Luke Smith was deservedly named man of the match for his outstanding defensive effort.

Ossett Town 6 v 1 Pontefract St Josephs - Charles Rice Premier League

Ossett Town U13s maintained their top of the table position with an emphatic 6-1 win over Ponefract St Josephs in the Charles Rice Premier League.

Ossett dominated the first half and opened the scoring with a neat finish from Joe Fraser.

Pontefract equalised soon after, but further goals from Joe Fraser and Luke Smith gave Ossett a 3-1 half time lead.

Luke Smith completed his hat-trick in the second half with two more goals and Aiden Midgley bagged another for Ossett to complete the victory.

Hat-trick hero Luke Smith was named man of the match for Ossett.

Ossett Town 4 v 0 Dearne Dragons - Charles Rice League Cup

Ossett Town U13s eased their way into the next round of the Charles Rice League Cup with a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Dearne Dragons.

Thomas Smith opened the scoring for Ossett and Joe Fraser doubled the advantage on the stroke of half time.

Fraser and Smith were on target again in the second half to put the result beyond any doubt.

Ossett captain Ross Peters was named man of the match

Ossett Town 2 v 1 Harrogate Railway - Millenium Cup Quarter Final

Ossett Town U13s rose to the occasion and triumphed 2-1 over Harrogate Railway in the Millenium Cup quarter finals. 

The first half was an evenly contested affair with both sides creating chances but unable to convert them into goals.

Harrogate took the lead in the second half against the run of play but Ossett were soon level through Luke Smith. 

Both sides worked hard to get the winner and it was Bradley Wells who scored the decisive goal to send Ossett into the semi finals. 

Man of the match for Ossett was the outstanding Sam Harbottle in defence.

Ossett Town 4 v  2 Altofts Juniors - Charles Rice Premier League

Ossett Town U13s returned to winning ways with a closely fought 4-2 victory over Altofts Juniors in this Charles Rice Premier League match.

Ossett went behind early in the first half but managed to turn things around with goals from Ryan Kellet and Ross Peters to take a 2-1 lead into the half time break.

Altofts equalised soon after the break but Ossett regained their composure to score two further goals from Luke Smith and Thomas Smith to secure victory.

Ross Peters was named man of the match for Ossett.

Ossett Town 1 v 4 Hoyland Juniors - Charles Rice Premier League


Ossett Town U13s were defeated 4-1 by Hoyland Juniors in this Charles Rice Premier League encounter.

Ossett dominated the first half and took the lead with a well worked goal from Aiden Midgley.

Hoyland equalised on the stroke of half time to level things up at the break.

Hoyland started the second half the stronger and scored two quick goals to take a commanding 3-1 lead.

Ossett tried valiantly to get back into the game but were caught on the counter attack and Hoyland sealed the win with a fourth goal.

Liam Scott was given the Ossett Town man of the match award.

Ossett Town 2 v 1 Ackworth - Charles Rice Premier League

Ossett Town U13s ended Ackworth Juniors 100% winning league record with a hard fought 2-1 victory in this Charles Rice Premier League fixture.

Ackworth had the better of the first half although Ossett took the lead with a headed Ross Peters goal from a Luke Smith corner. Ackworth rallied and pulled one back before half time to level things up at the break.

Ossett dominated the second half and a second goal from captain Ross Peters gave Ossett the lead once more. Ackworth tried hard to get an equalizer but couldn't get past the outstanding Ossett goalkeeper Tom Padgett.

The whole team played their part in a maginificent victory although the two stand out players were Ross Peters and Tom Padgett who shared the man of the match award.

Moorthorpe Ranger 1 - 4 Ossett Town - Charles Rice Premier League

A seasons best performance from Ossett Town U13s earned them a well deserved 4-1 victory at Moorthorpe Rangers in this Charles Rice Premier League fixture.

Ossett dominated the early exchanges, although they fell behind to a breakaway goal against the run of play. They hit back before half time with goals from Thomas Smith, Joe Fraser and captain Ross Peters to give them a 3-1 half time lead.

There were chances for both teams in the second half but a Moorthorpe own goal after good Ossett pressure settled the result.

Luke Smith was outstanding in defence for Ossett and took the man of the match award.

Ossett Town 4 v 0 Sandal United - Charles Rice Premier League


Ossett Town U13s returned to winning ways with a resounding 4-0 win over local rivals Sandal United in this Charles Rice Premier League fixture.

Joe Fraser opened the scoring with a neat lob over the Sandal goalkeeper. This was followed up by an Aiden Midgley goal and a long range free kick from Callum Brook to give Ossett a 3-0 lead at half time.

The second half was a scrappy affair with Bradley Wells adding a fourth goal to seal the win for Ossett.

Sam Harbottle was given the man of the match award for his resolute defensive effort.

Ossett Town 1 v 1 Wombell Juniors - Charles Rice Premier League


Ossett Town U13s drew 1-1 with Wombwell Juniors in this hard fought Charles Rice Premier League match.

Wombwell opened the scoring after 5 minutes with a well taken goal and generally had the better of the first half.

Ossett took control of the game in the second half and were rewarded with a long range equalizer from captain Ross Peters.

Ryan Kellett picked up the man of the match honours for Ossett

Ossett Town 0 v 2 Thornes Juniors - Charles Rice Premier League

Ossett Town U13s could not repeat last weeks cup victory over Thornes Juniors going down 2-0 in this Charles Rice Premier League match.

In blustery conditions Thornes scored an early goal and went into the interval with a 1-0 lead.

Ossett came out stronger in the second half and had a goal disallowed and a long range shot which hit the crossbar but couldn't find a way through a resolute Thornes defence.

Thornes added a second goal late in the second half which effectively sealed victory.

Bradley Wells was given the man of the match award for Ossett.

Millenium Cup 1st Round

Ossett Town 3 v 0 Thornes Juniors


Ossett Town U13s progressed to the second round of the Millenium Cup with a hard fought 3-0 win at Thornes Juniors.

Ossett opened the scoring with a Luke Smith penalty after Thomas Smith was brought down in the penalty area.

Man of the match Thomas Smith doubled the advantage early in the second half and Oliver Audsley sealed the win late on with a header from a Luke Smith corner.

Ossett Town 2 v 2 Pontefract St Josephs  (Charles Rice Premier League)

A late goal from Thomas Smith earned Ossett Town U13s a well deserved point in a 2-2 draw against Pontefract St Josephs U13s in this hard fought Charles Rice Premier League match. 

Ossett were on top in the first half and there dominance forced a penalty when Thomas Smith was brought down in the area. Unfortunately for Ossett the penalty was missed and almost immediately Pontefract were awarded a penalty of there own which was converted for a 1-0 lead.

Pontefract doubled their advantage with a well taken goal before half time.

Ossett once again dominated the second half and pulled one back after good work from Luke Smith resulted in a goal for Callum Brook.

Ossett continued to press forward looking for the equalizer and eventually a neat through ball from Joe Fraser enabled Thomas Smith to score the equalizer.

Man of the match honours went to hard working captain and midfielder Ross Peters

Ossett Town 11 v 2 Altofts (Charles Rice Premier League)

A fine hat-trick from Jed Rigby helped Ossett Town U13s to a convincing 11-2 victory over Altofts Juniors in the Charles Rice Premier League.

Altofts took the lead, but Ossett were soon into their stride and Thomas Smith equalized after a fine run and cross from Joe Fraser.

From that point it was one way traffic and further goals from Jed Rigby (3), Joe Fraser (2), Ross Peters (2), Ryan Kellett (2) and Callum Brook emphasised Ossett's superiority.

Man of the match honours were shared between Jed Rigby, Joe Fraser and Callum Brook

Ossett Town 0 v 1 Moorthorpe Juniors - Charles Rice League Cup

Ossett Town U13s crashed out of the Charles Rice League Cup at the first hurdle with a 1-0 defeat against Moorthorpe Juniors. Ossett had the better of the first half but were unable to convert their dominance into goals.

Moorthorpe netted the only goal of the game 10 minutes from time and although Ossett rallied bravely they were unable to respond.

Deutant Luke Smith was outstanding for Ossett and picked up the man of the match award.

Ossett Town 6 v 2 Stanley Utd

Man of the match Thomas Smith scored 4 goals as Ossett Town U13s got back to winning ways with a resounding 6-2 victory over Stanley United in their Charles Rice Premier Division league match.

Stanley scored first to take the lead, but Ossett were soon on level terms with a Joe Fraser goal. Smith then netted 4 times without reply to put the result beyond doubt.

Stanley managed to get one goal back, before Bradley Wells scored the final Ossett goal to seal the win.

Walton Wolves 5 - Ossett Town 2

Ossett Town U13s fell to a disappointing defeat in their first Charles Rice league game of the season at Walton Wolves losing 5-2.

Ossett were on top in the early stages and took the lead thanks to a goal from Aiden Midgley. Walton responded with two goals to take a 2-1 lead into the half time break.

Two early second half goals from Walton stretched their advantage to 4-1 and the game looked to be over.

Ossett rallied and a well taken goal from Ryan Kellett gave Ossett hope. Ossett had numerous chances to add to their total but were unable to convert them into goals.

Walton then scored a late 5th goal to put the result beyond any doubt.

Man of the match for Ossett was hard working midfielder Aiden Midgley.
