Crofton Juniors 1 v 4 Ossett Town
When Ossett played football they looked an excellent team but when they decided to belt the ball around anywhere willy nilly, they looked very average, the only positive from a poor first half was the impressive performance of Tom Liffey who netted twice. The second half saw much more of the same patchy football, and a Danny Issott corner was met by Bradley Turfrey to put Town 3-0 up. Crofton were awarded a penalty after Jarrod Walker fell onto the ball, the Crofton player finished neatly.Ossett piled on more pressure and it eventually paid off when they were also awarded a penalty which Sam Bartley dispatched via a palm of the keeper.Ossett Industrial Projects Ltd man of the match went to Tom Liffey.

Ossett Town 3-0 South Hiendley
Ossett produced a below par performance in the baking sun at Green Park, Horbury, but still managed to gain 3 points from a lacklustre Hiendley side who didn't even record a shot at Milner's goal all game. The first half produced plenty of Ossett chances and Turfrey and Calvert (Ossett's top scorers) were not at the races today. A neat move involving Calvert and Turfrey did produce Ossett's first goal though with James Wootton finishing at the far post.Bartley, Issott and Wootton came close with long shots but it was Danny Issott who scored Ossett's second with a scrambled effort from 8 yards to put Ossett 2 up at the interval. As the sun got warmer Ossett's play got worse and all they were achieving were long shots, but Issott again came to their rescue, turning inside the Hiendley midfield he hit a 25 yard screamer to give Ossett the points.Joe Coletta filled in well in 2 roles, but the Ossett Industrial Projects Ltd man of the match went to right back Liam Cook.

Ossett Town U16's entertained Temple AFC and produced a disciplined team performance in securing an 8-0 victory with eight different players getting on the score sheet. Ollie Walker grabbed Towns first with a fine right-foot finish followed by the lively Tom Dews with a calm left-footed effort. Central midfielder Callum McVickers then made it 3-0 with an excellent low drive that gave the visiting keeper no chance. Centre forward Shane Livingstone then got in on the act when he finished off a great move to make it 4-0. The game was then over as a contest just before half-time when captain Dominic Auty found himself unmarked in the box to finish off a fine move that he had started. Town changed things around in the second half in order to rest some players ready for next weeks big championship clash at home to Rothwell but still managed to add another three goals to their tally through Ben Brooke-Lawson, Peter Mortimer with arguably the goal of the game and Craig Fernie, with Dominic Auty deservedly taking the "It's Simple Trophies" Player of the Match honours.

Jamie Harrisons 19th goal of the season started Ossett Town U16's on their way to a battling 3-0 win against an awkward Leeds Unity outfit. Although Ossett dominated proceedings they had to wait until just before half-time to take the lead when Harrison raced onto an inch perfect through ball to fire low passed the advancing Unity keeper. Town then upped their game in the second half and soon increased their lead through the excellent Shane Livingstone who rifled home after the visitors failed to clear their lines. The points were then secured by a superb Ryan Wilby free-kick, which he curled into the top left-hand corner of the Leeds net leaving the keeper rooted to the spot. There were some good individual performances from Town's players, most noticeably from David Hawley, Tom Dews and Ossett Towns Most improved player of the season Dayo Salu but it was Wilby who just shaded it to take the "Its Simple Trophies" player of the match honours.

The second half began with Ossett on the front foot again and the visitors increased their lead further through the "Its Simple" Trophies player of the match Shane Livingstone who finished calmly after being put through by Ossetts dominant midfield. Town continued to dominate throughout and not even the dismissal of central midfielder Robert Williams could spur on the hosts to lift their game before Livingstone completed the rout with his second goal of the afternoon to complete Garforths misery. Livingstones second goal capped a fantastic individual display with strike partner Harrison also back to his best along with right-back Aaron Jackson the pick of Towns other players.

Fryston U16 3 v 6 Ossett Town U16
The referee struggled to handle this explosive game and was swayed by a very hostile crowd, which was added to by their players attitudes, but Ossett went into a lead on 2 minutes when a Sam Bartley long throw was met with a lovely header by Bradley Turfrey. After good work by Joe Coletta his pass found Turfrey who's right wing cross was met at the far post by a stretching Bartley to make it 2-0.A long Jack Milner goalkick enabled Turfrey to beat the offside trap with a diagonal run, despite over the top complaints from Fryston, which continued at half time, and a neat chip over the keeper put Town 3-0 up at half time. After Frystons 10 minute rant at the ref during the break, the game continued and straight from the kick off Sam Bartley scored from the half way line to put Ossett 4-0 up, Fryston were a lot more physical in the second half, but there were no decisions being given towards Ossett, as the crowd became more hostile, fouls were being committed all over the park.Fryston scored after Ossett failed to clear a corner, and were then awarded a penalty for an unknown reason, they finshed this to claw back 4-2.Following a Fryston clearance Bradley Turfrey lobbed the keeper from 35 yards to get his hatrick and score his 19th of the season and Ossett's 5th of the game.Again Fryston were awarded a penalty after Tom Liffey and the Fryston forward clumsily fell into each other, Jarrod Walker was sent off after debating the decision, Fryston pulled it back to 5-3.Danny Issott and Bradley Turfrey both should of had penalties after being assaulted in the Fryston goal area, but the referee was really struggling now.In the final minutes Sam Bartley hit another half way line shot that sailed over the goalkeeper to get his hatrick and Ossett's 6th.Sam Varley was Ossett Industrial Projects Ltd man of the match.

Rothwell Juniors 0 v 3 Ossett Town
Ossett Town travelled to Rothwell, their biggest rivals in the chase for the Leeds Minor League championship, and gave their hosts a lesson in finishing to claim a deserved 3-0 victory. The first half ebbed and flowed with both sides cancelling each other out in midfield with the only real chances coming from corners, which both defences dealt with easily leading to a 0-0 stalemate at half-time. The second half proved much different though with Ossett forcing Rothwell back from the re-start, and it wasn't long before Town capitalised when Callum McVickers produced the pass of the game to find Ollie Walker on the left who struck a fine first time shot across the keeper to find the top right-hand corner of the net. Town continued to press and soon doubled their lead when Shane Livingstone rose highest to head home from a corner. Rothwell then rallied but could not find a way past Andy Hey, who stood firm in the Ossett goal. Then with ten minutes to go Town made sure of the points when a Ryan Wilby free-kick found Cory Hemingway who coolly backheeled the ball past the static home keeper. The whole Ossett Town side deserve great credit for their performance in this fixture but the "Its Simple Trophies" Player of the Match award went to the excellent Ollie Walker with Hemingway and Livingstone running him a close second.

Ossett Town traveled to Aberford knowing a win would take them above the high flyers on goal difference. The game was always going to be a niggly, tough game due to recent history between the two squads, but it was played in fair spirit, work rate was high from both teams in a first half that saw few chances as both defences were locked for battle. The second half Ossett came out the better and from an excellent cross from Bradley Turfrey, Danny Issott was pushed in the box and Sam Bartley put away the penalty to put Ossett in the lead.Turfrey was then adjudged to be offside when he put the ball in the net, although it was clearly onside after a well timed diagonal run split the defence.Jarrod Walker, Joe Coletta, Gavin Peters and Sam Varley marshaled the defence for Ossett, and after 70 minutes Danny Issott's freekick went straight in after a bit of kidology from Bradley Turfrey on the keeper.Tom Liffey was unlucky in the dying minutes, but it was to be Ossett's day again.

This game was played on a terrible pitch, very bobbly, so the football wasn't pretty.Walton were very dangerous on the break with an especially quick centre forward, but Ossett's defence of Cook, Varley, Haigh and Walker coped admirably and were exceptional all the way through the game. The deadlock was broken when Andy Calvert raced down the right wing, sent in a cross and the Walton defender turned it into his own net under pressure from Danny Issott. The second half saw chances either end and Calvert, Bartley, Wootton and Issott all came close before a glaring miss, after a bad bobble, from Bradley Turfrey could of sealed it for Ossett.A neat pass from Sam Bartley saw an exquisite finish from Issott knocked the stuffing out of Walton to send Ossett closer to the leaders.

Ossett blew past basement Crofton in this one sided encounter, but the game was blighted by constant bickering and harassment of the referee by the Crofton players. The referee James Ferguson handled it excellently and was a credit to his profession. The scoring was opened on 2 minutes when James Wootton netted, this was followed by a neat chip from Andy Calvert to make it 2-0, Bradley Turfrey scored but it was disallowed for offside.Tom Liffey and Andy Calvert again, although this was debatable after Wootton chipped the keeper, Calvert adjudged to of got the final touch. Crofton pulled one back from a free kick following a foul by Sam Varley, but that was their only shot on goal. The second half saw more of the same as Ossett again piled on pressure and could of made double figures, Calvert netted to get his hatrick, and Bradley Turfrey got on the scoresheet poking in through the keepers legs from which the keeper lashed out and missed Turfrey with his foot, only to see red and reduce Crofton to 10 men, this sparked a mele of Crofton players disrespecting the referee.By this time Calvert was running wild and scored a further two goals to make it 8-1, chances for Cook, Issott, Bartley and Liffey but 8-1 was the final score.

Chapeltown 2 v 0 Ossett Town
Ossett Town U16's travelled to Chapeltown in the Leeds Minor League Cup and but for wayward finishing and a dubious penalty award 5 mins from time could have and should have progressed to the next round at the expense of their higher league opposition. For long periods Ossetts pass and move style kept the home side on the back foot restricting Chapeltown to a long ball game which the Town defence, led by the "It's Simple" Trophies man of the match Dayo Salu dealt with comfortably. Indeed for 75 mins it was Ossett who looked the most likely to score with Harrison, Hemingway, Livingstone and Williams going closest for the visitors. But it was with 5 mins left and extra-time looming that the game was effectively decided when a Chapeltown player wriggled free inside the Town box to strike a shot well wide of the town goal with Keeper Andy Hey seemingly doing enough to put the home player off. However the referee saw things differently when he decided to award Chapeltown a penalty adjudging the Ossett keeper to have brought down the attacking player even though the ball had already gone out of play before contact was made. Then shortly after the restart with the Reds still reeling from the penalty decision Chapeltown undeservedly made it 2-0 to ensure their rather fortunate passage into the next round at the expense of a brave Ossett outfit who deserved more for their efforts.

Ossett then re-took the lead midway through the first half when some fine work by Craig Fernie found Harrison again, who calmly fired a shot into the right-hand corner of the Wortley net to claim his eleventh goal of the season. Unfortunately for the home side though yet another defensive mistake allowed the visitors to hit back and equalize just before half-time. The second half saw both sides carve out chances only to find both keepers in fine form but it was Wortley who had the luck when the referee waved away a valid off-side call to allow the visitors to nick the points with about 5 mins remaining. The second half ebbed and flowed with the Reds missing a host of chances to increase their lead and were made to pay when Rangers equalised from a rather fortuitous penalty. The home side then dug in to regain the lead when Cory Hemingway beat the fullback down the right to deliver a wicked cross that saw Callum McVickers rise highest to head home. Town then made sure of the points with the hard working Craig fernie hitting the net to finish a fine Ossett move. Yet again the Reds produced a fine all round team performance with special mentions going to Herbie Naylor-Mayers, Peter Mortimer and Dayo Salu with the "Its Simple" Trophies Player of the match Award going to the outstanding Jamie Harrison.

U16's County Cup Result
Brighouse 3 v 0 Ossett Town Reds
Ossett Town Under 16's had the unenviable task of visiting reigning champions Brighouse in the first round of the County Cup and although they ended up going down to a 3 - 0 defeat, the Reds can be very proud of their performance against a far stronger opponent. Right from the start the home side bossed the game but were frustrated time and time again by some very stubborn defending from Town, however a slick move and a cool finish by Brighouse gave the hosts the lead midway through the first half. The reds responded by carving out a couple of chances of their own only to find the home keeper in inspired form to deny the excellent Jamie Harrison. Town upped their game in the second half forcing the home side on to the back foot, but again could not find a way through the home defence with the keeper tipping over a brilliant free-kick from the superb Callum McVickers. Brighouse then rested control with some fine wing play down the right which saw them double their lead with a header from the resulting cross. Five minutes later the home side made sure of the victory when they capitalised on a mistake from the visitors to make it 3 - 0. A big mention must go to Town keeper Andy Hey who turned in an outstanding performance to deservedly win the "Its Simple" Trophies Player of the Match Award.
Ossett Town B 3 v 11 Worsborough Common
Worsborough Common U16 Ossett struggled to handle Worsborough's pace and strength in this game, and went into the break 3-1 down, with Ossett's goal from Bradley Turfrey. The second half showed the difference in effort as Worsborough totally outclassed Ossett and fired in 8 goals, lots down to Ossett errors and lack of effort, although Bradley Turfrey and Danny Issott did manage to score. Ossett need to put more effort into their next game away v Walton to avoid a similar hammering. Jack Milner had a good game in goal and was at no fault for any goal.
Ossett Town U16's finally got their Leeds Minor League campaign started with a resounding 3 - 0 victory over a tough Yorkshire Amateurs outfit. Right from the start the reds fluid pass and move style pegged the visitors back enabling Town to create chances almost at will, but a lack of composure in front of goal along with the woodwork and some very stubborn defending prevented the home side taking the lead before half-time. The second half began with Town again missing some early chances which they were almost made to regret when Ammas broke away and looked certain to score but for a fine save from home keeper Andy Hey. Shortly after, Towns patience finally paid off when David Hawley, Peter Mortimer and Callum McVickers produced the move of the match which saw the excellent Jamie Harrison slot home from 12 yards to give the home side the lead. The visitors then tried desperately to hit back but were again thwarted by home keeper Hey before Ossett doubled their lead with some great attacking play down the right resulting in the Ammas keeper parrying a shot into the path of the advancing Cory Hemingway who coolly rifled a shot into the top right hand corner. A little later Towns victory was complete when a great cross from the impressive Dominic Auty deceived everyone, finding the far right hand side of the net much to the embarrassment of the visiting keeper. All Ossetts players deserve great credit for this performance, in particular Craig Fernie, Ryan Wilby and Aaron Jackson who worked tirelessly throughout the game with the "Its Simple" Trophies Man of the Match Award going to the commanding Callum McVickers.
